When to visit

Late spring and early autumn are the sweet spot. Summers are warm and dry, winters bring snow to the mountains.

Prishtina International connects to most of Europe. Buses and cheap taxis link the cities. Rent a car for the mountains.

Kosovo uses the euro. Cards are widely accepted in cities, cash is handy in villages. Kosovo is among Europe's best value.

Distances are short, nothing is more than a couple of hours away. Roads are good, and a car unlocks the valleys.

Currency: The euro (€). Cards work in cities, carry some cash for villages.
Language: Albanian and Serbian are official. English is widely spoken by the young.
